winter apparel

i finally got benny some winter clothes. i think they're pretty cute, and he loves them!

just before leaving for the byu game against eastern washington.
we ended up coming home between 3rd and 4th quarters - it was really cold and we ended up walking home through lots of thick snow.

benny did really well and had a great time.
he didn't even try to take his gloves off.

Halloween pumpkins

We went to Sedona for the weekend and the babysitter decorated pumpkins with the kids. These pictures are taken after church (we came home from Sedona in time to go to church), where Adam and Abby did a duet in the primary program. We were so proud of them. Poor Adam was mortified, but he did a bang up job, and Abby hung in there too.

Fire Pics

Here are some pics of the way the sky looked yesterday from our front door. In the first, you can see how beautiful the sky was before it was covered with smoke. The second and third show later afternoon photos. Earlier in the morning the area shown in those photos was crystal clear, but because of being surrounded by fire, the smoke met and completely blanketed our mountains.

The wind has since died down so many of the fires are contained, but there is still a heavy smoke smell in the air.

The last two photos were taken last Saturday on a hike we took in Crestline, which is now under mandatory evacuations. Thankfully the fire hasn't hit there (you can see the pile of fuel for the fire in the picture with just Amanda and Tanner -- the trees in the background were cut down because of a bark beetle infestation), but it's really close. It's really crazy thinking of the entire place evacuated since we were just there.

okay--the vertical format pictures were rotated correctly in iPhoto, so how do i make sure they upload correctly to the blog?

just thought I would post a few pictures. as you see, mostly of the wedding. there is one picture from the open house at Rob's folks house in Delaware. and there is a picture i took when dad and i were riding the motorcycle. you can see our shadow on the road. happy times.

this takes a while, but hopefully, i'll have time to post some pictures from earlier this year and some of the trips dad and i took. there are some places and things we'd like to share.

halloween

i've been debating on what to do with benny for halloween this year. maybe we can do a little poll... originally i thought that i would make an elephant costume for him, but i realized that would probably be a lot more than i bargained for with the time i had left.

so, we're left with last year's monkey suit as seen below.

spencer's idea is to dress him up (or down) as a chippendales dancer with the bow tie from caitlin and rob's reception.

congratulations and arizona update

hey everyone. faith, thanks for getting me on, giving me a little tutorial. congratulations for baby james. good job jen! hope you are getting some rest.

we are in texas visiting my parents. My mother, who had major back surgery last month and was still pretty limited in her recuperation, just had an infection at the incision site, so she has gone to houston to the hospital for 5 days or so. so adam is flying in tonight (per the previous plan) and we will be here at my parents' empty house until our flight out on Monday morning. Note to all: US Airways flights are expensive and difficult to change. anyway, i was thinking maybe of going to Galveston tomorrow and seeing the beach, since we will have nothing else to do. exciting stuff.

i'll have to see if i can figure out (adam will help me when he gets here) how to post a picture. mark caught a fish in the pond across the street from my parents' house. and the kids all (except for jack) had a chance to ride a horse at the SHSU rodeo team practice. good times for suburban kids.

This is great! Thanks Faith for setting it up! (and Spencer, if you helped too.) We are glad to have a place we can post family news as it comes up. Quick update, Jen is still incubating. The due date is the 15th but she went past that with Iris. Her spirits are high though, even with her back killing her! (I'm hoping for a 10 pounder, so we can continue our tradition of sleeping long hours.) I'm studying hard for the gmat. I'll take it Nov. 10th. We'll see how it goes and the timing of getting into a good b school. North Salt Lake is alive and well. We look forward to hearing from all of you. Love, from Davis County!
