sadly... i haven't been watching much of the olympics. i keep forgetting that they're on. the few times i have watched it it's been diving, women's outdoor volleyball, some gymnastics... anyway... so, no, i haven't seen ryan millar, but i definitely remember him and i had heard that he'd be on the olympic team. pretty sweet.
i haven't been watching much either. any, actually. we opted out of getting cable. i do remember ryan millar, though. in a championship series (don't remember the year) he scored a key point by inadvertently kicking the ball over the net. i don't think i'll ever forget that.
We watched him last night. And yes, we remembered him. I had a class with him at BYU. He looked great last night! Anybody remember him getting his foot caught in the net during one game at BYU? He came down on his head -- pretty brutal.
Ryan wasn't the only BYU guy - Rich Lamborn (the libero) was at BYU with Millar.
Also, the US team's coach was a former BYU player and fomer assistant coach (I took a class from him at the Y) . . . it was his father-in-law that was murdered pretty shortly after the team got to China.
AND . . . Carl McGown (BYU's coach when Millar, Lamborn, etc were there) is a scouting coach for the US Olympic team.
. . . just a little "FYI" . . . hope it wasn't overload.
I totally remember ryan millar. His senior year with ozzie antonetti was my freshman year. that was maybe the best year of byu volleyball since I've been paying attention.
