AZ Anderson Update July 2008

Rab joining us for dinner in the bouncy chair.

5 Kids!!!!

Jack loves the baby.

Getting some swimming time

AZ Anderson Update July 2008

Jack never kisses anyone; he just offers his cheek so that you may have the privilege of kissing him. But he kisses Rab, and we caught it on film (or in pixels).
The day I came home from the hospital. And it's pretty much like this all the time.
Everyone wants a turn with the baby, every day, every time I turn around.
Playing Jack's favorite pool game: Ring Around the Rosie.
We all go down!

They are all growing up.

This one is old enough to play in the grass,
sit up,
and get dirty (not to mention she scoots now, is growing her first tooth and eats "real" food). This one is old enough to love all things Star Wars,
and help feed his baby sister (and button things, hold real conversations, and keep underwear clean and dry).
This one is losing her first tooth and can read all by herself.
And these two. . .
. . .you can tell these two are growing up because all of a sudden their shirts fall off those little-kid hangars and it's getting harder and harder to tell their socks from Nate's and mine when sorting laundry.

andy's blessing

yesterday anderson clark cotterell became official. spencer gave a beautiful blessing in our ward. the whole day was wonderful. the weather was great.

with the weather so good we had some tables set up outside and all the kids played outside. eden was great and spent a lot of time outside watching the kids play. i'm grateful i was outside to see benny climb the ladder to the top of the fort all by himself - he used his elbows and knees, but he did it!

unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of the family, but we did get some of andy before he went to bed.

even as late as 9p he's full of smiles! as long as his tummy's full!

oh, and check out our blog for more pictures (i posted lots yesterday!).

I finished and Tanner medaled.

My time was 2:32:49.80 (my goal was between 2:30 and 2:45).

Tanner finishing. He finished 2nd for his age group, 30th overall out of 326 kids aged 6-12. His time was 7:31.15.

This was taken before we knew Tanner placed. He also got a 2nd place medal.

How I Spent Last Monday Night...

On Monday night, I went to a "tumble gym" with my home evening group and another group in the ward. It was so much fun! We were playing on the mats, falling into the foam pits, jumping on trampolines, taking off from spring boards, etc.

The last major "activity" we did is best illustrated by the two bottom pictures... I actually have a Word document containing a nice little stick-figure diagram, but I don't know if it's possible to attach Word docs to the blog. So, you get the real pictures of real people!

Jonathan sliding over the pads into the pit.

Ammon flying through the middle. He made it right through without knocking anything over, even though the angle doesn't look like he'll make it...

David in a "superman" jump.

Ammon and I in the pit.

The moment of impact with Ethan.

Just after the moment of impact with David.

So, what's going on in the last two pictures is this: I would stand in front of the foam pit braced for a head-on collision. The "runner" (first Amelia, then Ethan, then David) would start from about 20 feet away (I think David started about 30 feet away...) and go full-speed toward me, causing me to fly back into the pit. It was so much fun! My back is still a little sore (three days later, now), but in my opinion, it was worth it!

And here are some quick clips from the evening...
